The Neogen (Formally 3M) Petrifilm Aerobic Count Plate is a convenient and ready-to-use plate that efficiently determines the total population of aerobic bacteria. This plate is particularly useful for enumerating aerobic bacteria on environmental surfaces, ingredients, and food products. Each Petrifilm Aerobic Count Plate contains all the essential components for microbial growth, including a water-soluble gelling agent, nutrients, and an indicator, eliminating the need for agar preparation.
The built-in grid on each plate ensures reliable and consistent colony counts. The inclusion of a red dye indicator in each plate causes viable bacteria to appear red in colour, making it easier to differentiate them from opaque food particles. All red colonies growing on a plate, regardless of their size and colour intensity, should be counted.
